The recovery and restoration of Yamakoshi village is now complete; soon all can go in-and-out freely without any restrictions. Actually, for some time those in the Koi industry had been given permission to resume their normal lives and businesses in the village. On our part, we are pleased to report that Nishikikoi production has been resumed since the earthquake. This spring and summer in Ojiya, Koi producers have been breeding and enjoying Nishikikoi with an unprecedented passion and love.
Facing the unexpected events and challenges this past year had brought, and working through the difficulties, made us realize the so many blessings and gifts we have been receiving in all the days of our lives. But we now realize, more than ever, the precious nature and environment of Isawa and Niigata, and the comfortable shelter it provides, our community, families, friends, businesses, and our customers. These are our precious blessings. We are now evermore grateful for what we had and what we have now. We can never take the things and the people around us, who are seemingly ordinary, for granted anymore.
We are grateful not only are our mud ponds filled again, but with more Matsunosuke Koi than ever before. What made it possible was the truly enormous effort and determination of the Isawa Nishikikoi Center staff under the strong leadership we had received during the days of recovery and rebuilding. We've prevailed over the difficulties and recovered from our losses many times over and are now ready for the upcoming harvest season. Our commitment made a difference.
We are grateful to our forefathers, who have taught us how to survive and thrive through the harsh cycles of nature to produce something extraordinary (Nishikikoi) out of the ordinary (Magoi). Our mission has been refocused to continue this tradition of survival inherited from our ancestors, and to further refine the fine art of Nishikikoi breeding.
Without your unwavering support, loyalty and commitment we wouldn't be able to say the following:
Please come and join us at the Matsunosuke Harvest 2005 in Yamakoshi Village in Niigata. We are eager to thank you for your generous support last year and would like to show you what we've accomplished since your last visit. In an effort to reciprocate, we invite you to attend the Matsunosuke Master Class to be held before the auction. The auction is scheduled for October 23rd at the usual place. Over one hundred 2~4 year old Matsunosuke will be offered at the auction. As always, this is our gesture of thanking you and the base price will reflect our appreciation for your patronage.
May God Bless you all.
Toshio Sakai and all members of INC staff.
